Beautifully directed, Very nicely shot.
I downloaded and viewed on 32 inch LCD monitor from edius timeline.
It had, forgive the cliche, a filmic look to it.

Is the final scene of the girl with boat shot with the 24mm f1.4?

I'm not a lover of washed-out and cooler colours - so maybe would have added a touch of warmth to provide a better feel of summer, but in this movie I must admit that it adds a touch of 'old-time' feel and matches the scenes very nicely, especially the old 35mm film camera - and I agree with Ted about the 'filmic' aspect.

The steadicam, changes of angle and slow glides are superb.

It is a very simple storyline, but is filmed with such skill that it lifts the movie to another level, and turns it into a powerful message that touches our emotions and triggers boyhood memories in all of us.

In short, it is a beautiful short movie. I must remember to visit Paul's website more often! :)

I haven't been on this forum in a long time Paul. I got to the point where I realized my technical skills eclipsed my creative skills. They are both important obviously. I mostly have the people on DvInfo.net to thank for the sea of technical detail I now own. But learning the creative aspect is something I can't seem to force. It seems more driven by inspiration. And this short film I just watched of yours? It inspires the hell out of me.
