I was looking at the new A10 on Canon's website and notice under SD cameras there is only the GL2 listed now as a product.

I still use my XL2 for many of my projects and will continue to do so....

It's odd that the GL2 is still on Canon's USA books, as the XM2 (the PAL version) was discontinued many years ago. And for good reason - 4:3 looks horribly dated now.

I don't know if anyone has it in stock, but the XM2 is still listed on Canon Uk's website Canon XM2 - Professional Camcorders - Canon UK (http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Camcorders/professional/XM2/)
Does that just mean that they have stocks of them or that they do still manufacture them, I wonder?
The new cameras are listed OK so it's not just a matter of not updating the website.

4:3 is still sometimes better, for example if the footage destination is school computer monitors and projector screens. It's a pain to change the aspect ratio on some of the data projectors to 16:9 (and have to put it back after) and even new SmartBoards tend to be distinctly 4:3 shaped.
Wouldn't like being stuck in 4:3 though now I must agree.

EDIT: It's still in the current online brochure, updated 2009. The latest ones aren't, of course.
