Has anyone compared the video quality between the new Nikon D7000 (1080p) with the GH 1 or 2 (not hacked).
Am curious how the new Nikon D7000 will stack up against the GH1 using just the kit lens on either for video.
Looking to get a second DSLR for video and am torn between the GH1 (or GH2) and the Canon 7D.

Jim, IMO, simply get the GH2, you won't regret it. I can tell you that because I have owned a 7D for about 9 months (sold it in August). If it is primarily for video, the GH2 works like a dream to me. Slap a few Nikon or Canon FD glass and you'll get GREAT stuff out of it. And the useability of that little GH2 is simply amazing - crop mode is exceptional IMO. I can use it almost a fast as a videocamera...
Just my personal opinions.

I sold my 7d too. The 7d is a better still camera but the GH2 whips it in video. There's really no comparison. The 7d might do you a little better in low light, but that's it. The GH2 seems to be enjoying an amazing honeymoon right now.

What lenses do you suggest? I'm not hot on the idea of using adapter rings if I can just use 4/3 lenses. I was considering the 20mm f1.7 pancake or the 25mm f0.95 voigtlander.

If you can afford the f0.95 voigtlander, definitely go for it.
This is what I use:
14-140 from my old gh13
FD 50mm f1.4
FD 50mm f1.8 (2)
FD 28mm f2.0
FD 135mm f2.5
For now theses lenses cover pretty much the range I need (even better now, with the new GH2 CROP mode! I would like to get my handa on a FD 17mm but they are still pretty pricey on Ebay...
Best regards.
