Hi all,
I'm a very happy owner of 2 PAL XHA1 camcorders (ie, 50i/25f), with which I've produced a lot of SD stuff for DVD / web. I also love that it has firewire out, and in August I did a live multicamera webcast with these cameras. Great fun!
Of course, things move on, and I would like to produce 1080-24p video. I've been playing around with my editor (Sony Vegas) but can't seem to find a way of producing 24p output from my captures without it messing up the motion. I do a lot of music work, so not too keen on the idea of slowing the footage and having to stretch / pitch-shift the audio as this will be a big pain.
I'm sure this has been done to death, but is there any easy way of producing 1080-24p with my PAL XHA1 cameras? I like using them but is it time to let them go and get something that can do 24p natively? I suppose it's too much to hope that there's a switch hidden under a flap somewhere that switches it to 24p??! Is there a modification which can be made to the camera?
