Hi all, I did a search and couldn't find a definite answer...
I borrowed an FS-4 (HD) to use over the weekend with my Canon XH-A1. I've used FS-4's in the past with no problems (with other cameras), but in trying to set it up this morning I could not get the device to sync or record in either mode; manual or sync. I have DV Control set to "on" in my camera, is there anything else I can try? I know both Firewire cables I tried are good, and I have tried in both HD and SD modes (I am only using SD this weekend). I will list the steps I am taking below. Thanks in advance.
1. Plug in Firewire to camera and DV port on FS-4.
2. Power on camera.
3. Power on FS-4.
4. Choose Sync.
5. Press record on camera.
OR
Hit "record" on FS-4 twice, then roll tape on the camera. Either way, it does not yield a rolling timecode on the FS-4.
