Hi, I often make documentaries in the rainforest. In your opinion what is better camera between Sony EX1 or AX2000? I will use it in rainforest only (ethnic groups) and I will need a strong but above all handy camera. I like to get some suggestions. Thanks

EX1r is the "better" camera but that doesn't make it the best camera for your job though. It depends on your additional unspoken needs.

20x vs 12x zoom.
AVCHD vs XDCAM EX Codec.
SxS or SDHC adaptor vs SDHC built in.
1/3" vs 1/2" sensor.

Longer zoom AX2000.
Easier codec to work with EX1r.
EX1r needs SDHC adaptor or you're tied to SxS cards.
EX1r 1/2" sensor will likely be better in low light.

Also what about batter life?
Camera weight?

Hi thanks for your pleasant reply. Do you use EX1? Is it easy to use without tripod in wide angle? My shots always are without tripod.
What do you mean "EX1r needs SDHC adaptor or you're tied to SxS cards", please?
Thanks

SxS-Cards are pretty expensive and you need a special cardreader (except you got the old macbook pro with an expresscard-slot)

You need to get MxM, MxR, Hoodman or, Sony SDHC card adaptor. Then you can use much less expensive SDHC cards (compared to very expensive SxS). SDHC cards will work with standard cheap SDHC card reader or computer if it has an SD card slot built in.
