Hello.

I am using sony vegas/AE and i am looking for a plugin that would give me a horror film look as if somewere near has struck lightning.

YouTube - Flickering lightning skies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfNNdJzDltM) Heres a basic idea, of it, i could find.

I saw a advertisement clip for this kind of plugin a month ago, but now i have forgoten where i'v seen it.

I am making a music video and i would also need a pulsating light for beat transitions. Do i do that with spliting the clip on the beat and applying a soft flash to that part? Or there is a plugin to do so?

YouTube - St1m ? ???? (OST "???????? ?????") (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrXrnbaYd6Q&feature=player_embedded)

Here is a rather poor example of the pulsating light i want to achieve . Starts from 0:20-0:22.

Replies much apreciated :)

Try using short solid white clips on a track above clips. fade in and out. Lower opacity to soften it. Maybe even add Blurred Border.

There is a "Flash" Transition as well.

Good luck.

I googled "lightning effect after effects" and I found some tutorials...also take a look a digital juice's website, they might have something as well.

Il explore these methods guys. Thank you.

But about those plugins, if you can provide links to the psecific one, would make things lot easyer for me.

I did watch many many Advertisement videos on Red giant side/adobe/Video Copilot products, but didnt find the ones im looking for.

Flickering : YouTube - Light it up with NewBlue Light Effects (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hNmtSZ3yhA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL)

Lightning: YouTube - NewBlue Lightning - Shock your Audiences! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtvOPhjD-i4&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL)

Here are a couple of tutorials I did for NewBlue. I think they cover the effects you're looking for.

I have to disclose that although I am not an employee for NewBlue I am paid to write these short tutorials.

The NewBlue flickering light seams to cover the Lightning part, and quite well so far. :)

But i cant get the Transition i wanted. I tryed what Michael sugested, and it seams as the stock Flash transition. There fore wont do, cause the flash totaly overrides the video.

The effect im looking for is like a short burst of light on the transition so that i can still see the video in background.

With flickering light i cant get that on a specific part of vid. :/

And Stock "soft flash" transition overrides the video aswell. :(

Here is a rather poor example of the pulsating light i want to achieve in specific parts of the vid. As a individual burst of light . Starts from 0:20-0:22.

Still looking for sugestions .

How about adding a track above and putting the flash transition on that with the track opacity reduced?

EDIT (ah, as Michael already suggested)

I would be inclined to try out the many glow effects available. Use extreme settings.

EDIT (ah, as Michael already suggested)

Adding a Video track above my main track . Then addint a Flash to the above track/reducing opacity and then syncing both transitions?

Hmm, il have to experiment, not sure how u ment it .

To be honest I'm now thinking that the glow effects would serve you better.
