So my G3's have developed a scratchy issue lately. I have 2 sets with the stock mics. I have tried switching channels on the input to my EX1. Tried switching frequencies. Tried switching mics. Tried switching XLR cables. Still scratchy, sounding hot, over-modulated, and just generally poor.

Any suggestions?? What are people setting the sensitivity level to on the pacs? Mine are set to -36db. How about camera audio input settings? Mine are set to -53dBu.

Are there any settings I can set to help this out!!??

So they were working fine before and now they're not?

What is the Receiver's AF OUT set to?
Make sure the camera's 48vPhantom Power is off and the Camera is set to Mic Input.
Did you perform an Autoscan on the Receiver with the Transmitter turned off?

Hopefully we can help you get this sorted out. These systems have a number of variables where if not set properly you can get bad audio. One of these I'll try to make a video tutorial for the G3...I have one out there on the G2 that may be of some help still, you can google for "sennheiser wireless tutorial" if you'd like to watch it.

I just wonder if it could damage the G3 sennheisers when you accidently connected them for a few minutes with 48v phantom power on? It happened to me.

You should have no problem - with the exception of the very first batch of G2, as far as I am aware, the Sennheiser evolution series have protection against phantom power.

I assume you mean the receiver was plugged in to a Phantom Powered input. If you mixed up the transmitter / receiver and plugged the output cable w/ PP into the transmitter... damage could occur I suppose.

Damage from Phantom Power would not happen when using the receiver with the CL-100 XLR output cable that came with the system.

I don't know if damage could result by applying T-power.
