My wife bought a new computer and now we find out laptops for the most part do not have firewire ports. So good luck finding a laptop with a firewire port. So how do I now download from my Canon GL2 to the new laptop? Thanks for the help.

Does your laptop have an expresscard slot? If so, you can get a firewire expresscard.
