Most folks probably love and remember him for his brilliant timing
in comedy, but my favorite performance of his will always be his
dramatic role in Forbidden Planet. Thanks for everything, Leslie.

Surely you have to agree Forbidden Planet was his best role.

Sigh....

Well, as a boy growing up with the name Leslie, having him as a famous and well liked entertainer sure made my life easier. From one Leslie to another, Thank You.

I worked with him briefly on "Superhero Movie" a couple of years ago. Didn't get the opportunity to chat with him much, he did a lot of sleeping in his chair when not on set. Nice guy.

One of the greats. Very good at the slapstick style of comedy.

Quote 'the crew are on instruments'

Cut to a quartet playing just aft of the flight deck.

That will always crack me up.

Cheers Mr Nielsen.

One of my favs as well! The studio I worked for in NY had Krell power amps! Never did find out if the company name came from the movie.
Also exited by the rumor of a prequel happening. Supposedly James Cameron is involved but who knows!

Had to watch Airplane! for the billionth time last night. Wife wasn't thrilled since I tend to recite most of the dialog but graciously let me pay my respects! Leslie will be missed!

I think he taught us all a valuable lesson about radio mics. :)
