Do you guys notice a jumpy IS while zooming when the IS is active?
When my camera runs on video mode, or has the trigger held halfways down, so that the IS goes active, I get a jump in the image while zooming in slowly past the 35mm mark.
I would appreciate if owners can confirm this, or if I have a faulty lens.

I have the lens and hav never had any problems with it. These lenses aren't made for zooming while shooting video. You really have to zoom, then re focus.
Maybe that's your problem.

I cannot recall ever using the zoom when recording.

Nevermind guys. The lens is defective for sure. Just now it went all crazy vibrating like a ringing phone or a womans best friend, untill I disabled the IS or turned off liveview.
There should be no issues zooming while shooting on a stills lens, I have done it with others. aslong it has a non changing zoom through F stop
It's not about zooming while shooting, but zooming while the lens is "opperating" I was reffering to. Your IS goes active as soon you select liveview. That effectively makes the lens act like its "recording"
