Ok, I get the shutter mode explanation. Not sure what happens though if you turn off the shutter switch in the front of the camera. What mode is the camera in then and what is the reason?
thx

When you turn the shutter off on the front of the camera under the lens, the "shutter" matches the frame rate. So if you're shooting at 1080p/24frames per second with the shutter off, the shutter will default to the frame rate 24fps. If your shooting 1080p/30fps... the shutter will default to 30fps or the frame rate. Also, you get better low light sensitivity with the shutter off... i think about 1 fstop.

hope this helps

Greg

did that help or were you looking for something else?

yes, that did help. I guess it serves as a fast way to cancel any over-riding shutter settings or effects that may be set up on top of the default....
