I'm trying to make a fake movie trailer using 3 films. The soundbytes that I want to use have their dialogue and the movies score in the same clip. Is there a way to separate the musical score and dialogue?? I'm using Vegas 8 and I'm quite new to the editing game. Thanks for the help in advance!

Sorry to be negative but I think you're not going to be in luck. There are tools that claim to be able to remove the vocal from a song but in practice they are very hit and miss. In any case, that removes the vocals, rather than separating them.
My best advice would be to buy the soundtrack CD, find the relevant sections, then get a couple of friends to record the dialogue as in sync as possible to the original - then lose the original audio completely.
Just another thought - if you're ripping the clips from DVD, would it be possible to separate the dialogue the 5.1 or 7.1 audio? You might be in luck and discover some or all of your dialogue appears in isolation on a channel.Wild stab in the dark, I know, and I wouldn't have the first clue about how to go about this, but might be worth looking into.

Thank you Ian! I'll try that.
