Anyone familiar with recording live video from a monitor using a Canon XH A1, and a Canon XL 1? I've heard that with the XL 1 you can only have the timecode on a live video out, with no option to remove it. Is this true? For the XH A1....?
The project is a performance recorded from several angles at once using an analog button switcher. The equipment is old, so it will be recorded in SD and there needs to be a seperate TV for each feed.
At present, I have little information about the unit being used, but can obtain the info if necessary. I am more interested in the capabilities of recording a live signal from the Canon mini-DV cameras through an external monitor. Any tips on how to do this will be greatly appreciated by the crew.
