Does the PDW 350 offer 1080p 422 out the SDI?

Check the nano forum on here, I think it has been addressed. I believe the answer is yes but don't hold me to that. Keep in mind the sensors are 1440x1080

Thanks Marshall,

Understand the sensor is 1440x1080. Just looking at options for a job.

its a good idea even if the 330/350 is 1440.

Always remember: A recorded HDCAM signal is 1440 x1080 , too - and it can look fantastic.

The trick is compression - or less compression.

If you go out straight live with 1440x1080 CCD the cam will output a Full HD live signal (1440 stretched x 1.333) - but before compression. Any recording will stretch mpg artifacts as well, that makes the pic not better..
So the idea to go straight out and (for example) record the signal in 1080, thats a great idea.

The output is a 1920x1080 frame size. It is 10 bit 4:2:2. In progressive modes the output is PsF (progressive segmented frame) so may get identified as interlace by many devices even though the footage contained within the signal is progressive. This is due to 25P and 30P not being officially supported formats for the original SDi specifications.

Uli, Alister,

Thanks for the information. This is interesting news, now I will test test the EX1-3/Nano side against the F350/Nano. Not sure if this has been done and published? The CCD on the F350 should produce a very nice picture at 422 50Mb/s.
