Anton Galimzyanov November 13th, 2010, 12:33 PM Hi David
When I try to convert a Panasonic SDT750 raw file with HDLink (sure I set 3D mode in the viewer 'Side-by-Side'), the resulting 3D video is pretty strange. I mean left eye looks jerky, very much-like a wrong field order, but worse. (settings: quality - filmscan, frame format - interlaced, no resize etc)
David Newman November 13th, 2010, 01:03 PM It is working fine on the SDT750 files I have (very limited, just 3 clips form Panasonic directly), however I do recommend deinterlacing during HDLink conversion. Interlaced and 3D should not be mixed -- see that BluRay 3D has no interlaced support. We will need improve 3D interlaced handling if camera manufactures continue to output 60i, but in the mean time just check deinterlace. Do you have any source file samples you can share?
Anton Galimzyanov November 13th, 2010, 01:12 PM I checked 'de-interlace'. Same result....
try this http://webfile.ru/4899168
James Park November 13th, 2010, 04:20 PM Just a minor problem but video formats in preview window for video capture in HDLINK are still labelled incorrectly. Gone are the multiple overcranked labels from the previous builds but there is no profile now identifying which one is overcranked. Also I'm seeing incorrect frame rate label of HD 1080p 2.4 ----> 3.00 instead of 24fps/30fps and HD 720p 5, 5.99, and 6p instead of 50fps/59.94fps 60p respectively.
David Newman November 13th, 2010, 10:48 PM James, I are talking about DeckLink capture? As I don't see the controls you are talking about.
Jay Bloomfield November 14th, 2010, 11:54 AM @David
It's the HDLink Decklink window. I haven't used my BMD card in a while to capture anything, since I have been having problems with A/V sync using the BMD codec (not Cineform though) in Premiere Pro CS5. I just checked and it looks like it's a GUI issue with the combo box:
"HD 720p 5.99 - 8 bit 4:2:2 YUV"
The CFHD Decklink capture still appears to work properly using HDLink.

David Newman November 14th, 2010, 12:10 PM Thanks, I'm not running that card, so I don't see that GUI, but I'll parse the info along.
David Newman November 14th, 2010, 01:54 PM I checked 'de-interlace'. Same result....
try this WebFile - ??????? ????????? 00100.MTS (http://webfile.ru/4899168)
The file worked fine for me. Conversion was a single step, I simply set the status viewer to side-by-side and converted with HDlink (works deinterlacing or not.) I fixed the vertical offset, removed the letter/pillarboxing and made a 720p 3D file here as a tiny torrent. http://miscdata.com/torrents/00100-720p3D.zip.torrent
Yousentit.com was not responding so I thought I would try a torrent.

Dennis Helmar November 14th, 2010, 04:17 PM Just installed 5.2.2 and tried running it with 8 5D files after the second one I got a HD link stoped working. No such problem with 5.2.1
David Newman November 14th, 2010, 09:43 PM Please repeat this test with 5.2.2, and it is reoccurs, what is the error message.
Dennis Helmar November 14th, 2010, 10:04 PM I reinstalled and still received message from windows that HDLink.exe has stopped working. Neoscean hangs up with no error message in box. 5.2.1 works without a hitch. Window 7 professional 64bit , i7 , 12 gigs ram

David Newman November 14th, 2010, 10:07 PM Please file a trouble ticket as support may need to do a remote session, as that does not make sense. Are these very long clips?
Dennis Helmar November 14th, 2010, 10:20 PM 50 to 100mb
David Newman November 14th, 2010, 10:27 PM Tiny then, weird, I can batch them all day. Do please contact support.
Dennis Helmar November 14th, 2010, 10:53 PM I will. It's weird considering I can batch all day using 5.2.1

Dennis Helmar November 15th, 2010, 07:42 AM I David,
I just uninstalled 8.22 .282 and downloaded a new version and reinstalled. I ran 10 new 400megabyte files with no problem. I then ran the files that crashed last night and when Neo Sean got to file number six it crashed again. I eliminated file six they all ran with no problem. I then ran 10 or 12 more files and all went well. Seems to be a corrupt or partially corrupt file that was causing the problem.I'm doing of a bunch more files today will let you know if there's a problem.

Anton Galimzyanov November 15th, 2010, 08:36 AM hi David
I've installed a demo version on a second machine - yes, it does work and convert 3Ds fine. Hm, strange..
BTW, what do you mean by 'fixing the vertical offset' ? Are those windows not correctly Y-centered ? If so, could you share with us a correction numbers. Thanks
David Newman November 15th, 2010, 11:00 AM Dennis,
Thanks for that update, you had me baffled, and reconverted gigabytes of 5D and 7D clips to make sure everything was working. Seems the build is okay.

Seems that the 3D lens on the SDT750 is not alsways perfectly aligned. This is easy to correct for.
Load the 3D converted sequence into FirstLight and enable the differencing mode.
From here you can adjust the vertical to remove that strong black line (error between the two eyes.)
In the corrected image I used -0.0038 vertical adjustment (a -0.38% shift or around 4 pixels.) I also did a horizontal convergence change to place the tree at the screen plane (-0.0049). In the Framing panel I set the zoom to 1.1844 to remove the black borders. This set the display to Anaglyph for web viewing.
Stephen Armour November 17th, 2010, 09:43 AM This report is to give you a thumbs up on the new beta, and a small grumble about a minor irritation in FL.
We are using this new 5.2.2 beta with some new EX1R green screen shots and have been very pleased with the results. Very nice indeed! So far, no major or serious bugs and we were blown away by the chroma quality.
One minor irritation in FL:
When exporting and importing layout data with the "Burnin Controls", it was irritating to NOT have "Export Layout" record absolute position data for text (I wanted to save for other projects and needed to apply to different clips). When I tried to import the "Cineform Layout Template" (XML), it would return to the "center" position I had used so I could drag the text to the position I needed.
Absolute coordinates would be nice for any text or graphic elements and the drag feature you activated by clicking the "center" position works fine. Any workarounds for this, or is it just a minor fix? Keeping all the info on an export would make it more useful for many workflows.
David Newman November 17th, 2010, 11:37 AM Thanks, we have gone one better with build 283, fixed a licensing bug (introduced by a third party) and a white balance bug for SI-2K footage. This should be release today.
