Thought this might be usefull to point out to any HD DSLR shooters using Manfrotto 501PL plates and systems.
Manfrotto Hydrostatic Ball Head with RC5 Rapid Connect System - Ball (http://www.manfrotto.com/product/0/468MGRC5/_/Hydrostatic_Ball_Head_with_RC5_Rapid_Connect_System)
Seems to offer a simple but well engineered way to add portrait flip capability to any standard video head by attaching this to the slide plate using a 3/8" screw.
Yes, it is most definately for 501PL plates, here's the parts list:

They do have a model which takes their 357 plates:
