This is from the Ant course 2010, in Borneo
here we are excavating a colony of a very interesting ant species (Harpegnathus sp.). They have peculiar mouth apparatus, allowing them to close their mandibles with very strong force (more info here Research (http://www.life.illinois.edu/suarez/spagna/research.htm))
the colony was excavated and brought to US to be kept in the lab and studied
