Hello everyone,
Currently looking for a monitor solution under the $600 range (I know there will be alot of criticism on this but I am patching my business together on a tight budget) - and I figure any monitor is better than none. I have no problem using my Laptop with onlocation for an indoors interview type setting - but I am looking for something more portable to bring with me on the field to assist with focusing. I know I will not get anything close to a true hd monitor for this price.
I came across this 7" Marshal Monitor for $399.99 - Marshall Electronics 7" HDMI Camera-Top Monitor Kit w/LP-E6 Equivalent Battery On-Camera Video Monitors M-LCD7-HDMI-B-CE6 - Vistek Canada Product Detail (http://www.vistek.ca/store/ProVideoOnCameraStorageDisplay/252565/marshall-electronics-7-hdmi-cameratop-monitor-kit-wlpe6-equivalen.aspx)
I figure I can buy a d-terminal to d-terminal cable and connect my camera direct. Would this type of connect work? Would this be a decent "starter monitor"
Another monitor I am interested in is a varizoom VZ-TFT-7U. VariZoom VZ-TFT7U 7" Ultimate LCD Monitor Kit VZ-TFT-7U - (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/618575-REG/VariZoom_VZ_TFT_7U_VZ_TFT7U_7_Ultimate_LCD.html#accessories)
Seems like a nice all-included ready to go type kit. The pixel resolution seems a bit whacky to me (1440 x 234 pixels) but maybe I am missing something. It does however only seem to have RCA inputs (which maybe doesnt matter?)
I know alot of other people have been fooling around with these $200 liliput monitors - and I am actually reading alot of postive reviews. Not sure if this is something I really want to play around with or not though.
I was just hoping for some input and ideas.
Thanks,
Dale W
