I am interested to see the AG-AF100 using the Panasonic 7-14mm lens at full wide. I know it is only F4, but I am still interested in how much distortion this lens has with the AF100.

Does anyone know of other options this wide that are faster for a decent price?

It's rated as a very good lens, but being an ultra-wide lens you are going to see angular distortion for anything close to the lens.

If you've got a spare $20K lying around, you could buy one of these...

Thanks Guy,
I was on a shoot where the Arri 8mm prime was being used. Very nice piece of glass.
Appreciate the review links. The stills from the middle review answer my question along with the first review distortion chart. Minimum distortion compared to the EX1 with wide angle which does not cut it for a job I am bidding..

The middle review is really useful Guy. Thanks for posting that up. The barrel distortion from 10mm to 12mm is practically speaking non-existent (at 12mm it is neutral). Can't put screw on filters on the front but most of us have matteboxes anyway. Near silent operation with ring adjustments. Little breathing. Weighs 10 ounces. Comes with a usable hood. Costs a grand but given the lack of barrel distortion in a good range of the wide angle path it's a fair price.

Phillip Bloom used the 7-14mm quite a bit in his recent short: South: Test film shot with Panasonic AF100 on Vimeo
