Right now I'm using the DP Slider 720V and a pair of Manfrotto 701 head and the 755XB legs. I really don't like this set up at all. the legs are unstable when it's at its lowest setting and it's hard to get lower to the ground without putting the slider on the ground. I'd like to get a setup that allows me to use the vertical part of the slider and a stand that is sturdy and can easily adjust up and down.

Sometimes I have to get shots that are about 6 inches off the ground, so I need a setup that can handle that. Right now it's either on the floor or about 2 feet off the ground.

For shots that low, I would just put the slider on the ground, and a Manfrotto swivel to give you about 6 inches in height.

Here is what it looks like.

Hey Kelly. I'm sure everyone has their own way setting up slide shots. I am not a big fan of carrying a lot of gear and the heavier it is, the less mobile I feel. This is just my opinion of course and others my have assistants to help them with their gear. I usually work alone and the first thing I did after one day with my glidetrak was to hack the bad boy in half to a smaller version. Yes, I get shorter slides but I'm able to carry around this thing much easier and mount much faster.
