View Full Version : Warm to cool to warm again...

Hey everybody. I've been doing some green screen compositing work with my HM100. I'm shooting in manual, with my color matrix set to Cinema Vivid (my green screen really pops when shooting in that mode). Anyway, I've noticed an odd thing when viewing my footage back. The picture goes gradually from warm to cool (and back again in one particular shot). The black shirt I am wearing will look black and then gradually changes to looking navy blue. While I can fix this via color grading in post, it is still driving me a little batty. I know I am probably overlooking something, but I can't figure it out... Any words of wisdom would be most welcome...

If you were shooting under flo's or other type of cyclical lights at high shutter rate it can phase with the camera causing that effect. Make sure to shoot at a 60 shutter rate (or 50 if you are shooting PAL) and stop down with iris or ND.

Hope that helps.

I was shooting under florescent lights... That would have never occurred to me... I appreciate the help!

and also make sure your white balance is on manual.
