Mat won, you guys. He won the Panda for the BBC Newcomer Award. Tonight.

Unbelievable. What a thing to accomplish.

I'm sure once he climbs down from Cloud 9 and from shaking all the new hands who will undoubtedly want to hire him for amazing world-wide cinematography projects, he'll jump in to tell us all about it.

Stay tuned!

And huge, huge congratulations to our favorite designer, player, visual poet, and all around planet-loving friend....

Hey guys !

Well what a crazy week in my life. The festival has now finished, I've had little sleep, met some fab people and yep...won the BBC newcomer award. Awesome!

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and support throughout the last few uwol years. We have a great community!

As far as viewing the film. I will be setting up a website soon and it will be viewable on there. The BBC NHU are also using a number of sequences from the film for a new series. 'An Animals Guide To Britain'. This is set to screen in the UK in April next year.

Many many thanks
Mat

Sheesh Kevin!

Wait until your lucky break, we'll post Yeti baby pics for a tease!

What a night, Mat! This is so awesome! Who are you shaking hands with in the photo? You're in the tie, right? You look different from different angles, and the 80's fancy dress costume doesn't help matters!

Soak it up and spill it all onto us too! It's contagious. Well, let's hope so anyway! ;-).

Hi Cat

Don't you worry, I'm keeping my eye open for dodgy yeti pics now :-)

Anyway, to answer your question I was shaking hands with one of the other guys, 'Guy' from my catagory. The girl in the pic is part of the third team.

Yep that is me in the tie. Thought I'd try and get a little smart for the night!

Speaking of dodgy yeti photos... I think I've found one:

So that's what they look like! Well Kevin, one can argue that there is some resemblance compared to you in that balaclava! ;-)

Oh, right Kevin!

Leave the explaining up to me? My lips are sealed....

Mat, I'm handing this thread back to you. All you need to know is the sexy yeti is a bit racy (and ladies beware of a yeti who offers to change a flat tire for you), but my yeti doll is cuter! ;-)

Mat, are you going to enter Hudson's in the Jackson Hole Film Festival? ( Trying to get back on track! ) :)

Matt,

"Just fantastic", is all I can say. And the judges saw it correctly for a change, eh??

I am sure this is one huge stepping stone into your future!!!!

Thanks again everyone !

Kevin - You know what, I'm certainly toying with the idea. I'd like to do a re-cut and improve the piece in a couple of areas. I spoke to lots of folks who said Jackson Hole is a great experience!

Dale - I'd love to think this is inspiring everyone to reach out there. If any of you guys have any aspirations to approach such a festival, then please let me know and I'll give you all the pointers I possibly can.

Markus - Thanks fella. I'm now working on a very cool BBC Natural World project called Wild London (Specialist Camera). Hopefully there will be more in the pipeline.

maybe we could beg Mat to do a write-up of his pointers and sticky it to our forum...that would be quite handy for all of the players who want to move their projects from our contest into the wide world....

Mat, it would be awesome if you found a spot for Hudson's Monarch at Jackson Hole because then you would have to show up in Jackson, where we could lift a glass together. Do it, do it, do it!

I'm going to the Jackson Hole Symposium (being held in Denver this year) next week....

I would be very happy to share what I've learned over the past 6 months. Its been a real learning curve thats for sure!

I'd love to come to Jackson Hole... its wouldn't be up to me though :-) !!

Congrats Mat! (if I didn't already)

A sticky from you would be cool. I went to Jackson last year and had a great time. It would be excellent to hear Mat's thoughts on submitting as a newcomer.
