James Binder October 11th, 2010, 11:06 AM Did you mean 239.95?
The online store is saying that the upgrade is 239.95... Am I missing something somewhere?
John Estcourt October 11th, 2010, 11:14 AM No he's got the right price. The offer just came through by email.
it's a very good offer.
Ian Stark October 11th, 2010, 11:17 AM James, the lower price is available until (I think) the end of November when it will revert to the higher price.
Mike Kujbida October 11th, 2010, 11:33 AM Ian, your date is correct.
James, make sure you're logged in to see the correct price.
Edward Troxel October 11th, 2010, 11:34 AM If you don't get the e-mail with the $139 pricing, contact Customer Service and they can assist you.
There are some issues with posting the direct link as the links in the e-mails are personalized for that individual. If you do not get a personalized link, just contact Customer Service and they can help you get the proper pricing.
James Binder October 11th, 2010, 12:27 PM Thanks guys --
Renton Maclachlan October 11th, 2010, 12:45 PM I have upgraded to each new version since Vegas 6 and have sold on my old version each time and recovered costs. I intend to do the same again.
I have been right through the knowledge base and can't find anything about how to do this. Until about version 7 or 8, Sony had a link on their site for this but no longer.
Does anyone remember/know the procedure or how to go about contact regarding this? I recall it was easy last time by phone but have forgotten details.
Edward Troxel October 11th, 2010, 02:10 PM Just contact Customer Service. They can tell you what to do.
Paul Fierlinger October 11th, 2010, 04:45 PM My overpayment was taken care of hours ago, through customer service.
Dave Blackhurst October 11th, 2010, 06:10 PM I'm getting $239.95 when logged in, but I'll wait for the e-mail...
I skipped 9, would that affect which offer I'll see? Don't really NEED 10, but at $140, I'll bite, $240, not so much...
Mike Kujbida October 11th, 2010, 06:30 PM Dave, I get the same price when I log in.
Click "Buy Now" and you'll get the $139.95 price.
Dave Blackhurst October 11th, 2010, 09:49 PM I found the email in my overloaded inbox, cool, now to decide which freebie...
Jim Andrada October 11th, 2010, 11:40 PM Well, I logged in and clicked "Buy Now" and still got the $239 price.
Guess I'll call Customer Service in the AM
David Jasany October 12th, 2010, 06:24 AM Ordered mine online last night for $139.95. I chose the audio special fx 1-5.
Troy Davis October 12th, 2010, 12:11 PM I got the $139 offer as well. I have 8 and will probably take the upgrade and FREE offer.
Fergus Anderson October 14th, 2010, 04:24 PM Hi guys
Im in the UK - does anyone know if I will be charged import duty if I order the boxed version?
Cheers
David Dalton October 15th, 2010, 12:17 AM The boxed version is dispatched by Sony using Fed Ex, who will clear the goods through UK customs and deliver it to you. Fed Ex will then invoice you for the VAT and a handling charge, which was £10 last time I purchased that way (Dec 2009).
If you download you will get charged VAT only.
Marcus Martell October 15th, 2010, 02:06 AM Hola guys,
i have SV8 since i bought a camcorder and the sw was in bundle with the camera, Unfortunately i don t have DVD aRCH on the cd and the AC3 pro audio neither......
So i received the offer for 139$, do u think i ll receive DVDARCH too?
gracias
Mike Kujbida October 15th, 2010, 03:13 AM Yes you will.
The offer page says"
"Upgrade to Vegas Pro 10 from Vegas
Upgrade any professional version of Vegas (Vegas Pro, Vegas Audio, or Vegas Video, Vegas, or Vegas+DVD) to Vegas Pro 10.
Pricing excludes Vegas LE"
It also says:
"Vegas Pro (Download)
Includes downloadable versions of Vegas Pro software, DVD Architect Pro software, and product manuals (PDF). "
Renton Maclachlan October 15th, 2010, 03:28 AM Mine arrived FedEx today. I buy the disk version so I have something tangible to sell on at the next upgrade. Minimalist packaging these days!
Marcus Martell October 15th, 2010, 04:01 AM It's a good new!
BTW if i order the dvd to be shipped to my house in Spain how much should i pay of taxes?
thx
Renton Maclachlan October 15th, 2010, 12:48 PM No GST for me this time, as I had it sent to me personally.
I also have a sort of production name I use sometimes even though it represents me personally, and last time [v8] that was used and the assessors thought it was for a business so charged me tax. I couldn't talk them out of it, so after that I made sure Sony only has my personal address details!!!
No idea about Spain...
Dale Guthormsen October 15th, 2010, 03:05 PM I have gone to the link and it says 239 dollars!!
any ideas?
Marius Boruch October 15th, 2010, 05:37 PM my advise - test it first!!!!!! before you buy. I made that mistake and ended up switching back to Vegas 90e
see http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/what-happens-vegas/486136-vegas-10-crashes.html
Curt Talbot October 15th, 2010, 06:42 PM Dale, I have the same issue. When logged into my account my only upgrade choice is the $239 price. When loaded into my shopping cart the price is still $239. The last upgrade I bought was Vegas 8. I don't know if that is an issue. I contacted Sony via email several days ago and am waiting to hear back.
Mike Kujbida October 15th, 2010, 06:52 PM Here's an email link direct from the folks at Sony that has the correct price.
Vegas Pro 10 email (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/email/vegas/vegas10/vp10-upgrades-f1.htm)
Edward Troxel October 16th, 2010, 07:56 AM I will agree with Marius that you should test it first. However, I know it's running fine on hundreds of other machines so the specific issue he is having seems unlikely on your particular machine. But it *IS* always wise to test first - for example, it won't install at all on my XP SP2 machine because it requires XP SP3 so if this was my only machine, I would be unable to use it.
Chris Barcellos October 16th, 2010, 11:39 AM my advise - test it first!!!!!! before you buy. I made that mistake and ended up switching back to Vegas 90e

I have upgraded early in the past for the discount price, and then waited for updates to resolve some of the early problems. This version, though, has been pretty clean for me so far... and I am not at present seeing the need to return to 9.
Mike McKay October 16th, 2010, 12:00 PM If I upgrade, do I still keep V8C on my computer and can continue to use if needed, or does it get uninstalled/deactivated etc?
Mike Kujbida October 16th, 2010, 12:10 PM I have versions 7 through 10 installed on my computer.
Each one goes into a separate folder so there's no conflict.
Mike McKay October 16th, 2010, 12:53 PM Great to know, will download demo and see how it looks.
Chris Barcellos October 16th, 2010, 04:18 PM Right now I have 8, 9 and 10 on my system. Haven't used 8 in months.
Yi Fong Yu October 18th, 2010, 01:43 PM this is awesome, thank you all for this! great savings!!!!!!!!!
Marius Boruch October 18th, 2010, 02:01 PM Could you do me a foavor...could you open old project from V9 in V10 "play" with it for some time; see if it is stable....[do not save it in v10 format because you will not be able to open it back in V9!!!!!]
thanks in advance

Well, I never received the email and though I am logged in, it is asking $239. :(
How do I contact customer service? (Sorry, I was sick for several months).
EDIT: Never mind. I found the link on the second page of this thread and ordered the version to be shipped to me.
