Like many other people viewing this thread, we are dying to get our hands on this coveted FS-4, but it seems like there are a couple of problems that I believe were to be cleared up by mid-July. For me, they are battery power and fan noise. Are new units being shipped with quieter fans, and are newer, longer lasting batteries available yet? I think if those problems are solved, I am ready to get my paws on one. Thanks for your help.

The real problem with the batteries is the lack of a designated charger for them. But there have been some good workarounds for this problem, posted here. The battery problem shouldn't be the main reason for not buying the FS-4.

I wish that I could say that about the fan noise.

No news on the quieter fan though, eh? I remember reading a post earlier this summer that said hopefully by mid-july they would have a new model of fan. Hope that's the case.

I wonder where Matt McEwen is. He has been very quiet for the past month or so.

When he gets back from where ever it is he is, I'm sure that he will give us an update.
