That's pretty much it. Ten minutes ago I just about impulse bought the GoPro Motorsports Hero. I'm working on my zero budget film and need something to tie to the landing gear of a Cessena 182, and my underwater still camera crapped out and I haven't replaced it yet.

But FCE seems like it's a little picky sometimes so I thought I better ask first.

No Compatibility issues - as per usual I'd recommend transcoding the footage to match your editing format for best results in terms of workflow.

Hi Ivan,
Th camera is doing miracles for the price.
Batch convert with compressor and you are good to go.
I can't explain why but on one of my edit stations I can drop the footage direct to the timeline in fcp. It needs rendering but it works fine.
If you buy it don't forget to upgrade the firmware to the last (very recent) version.
Good luck,
Eugen

By the way, I have used the go pro's adhesive mounts on planes, speed boats and helicopters. They are rock steady.
Rent one first if you have doubts.
I have two and use them on every outdoor project.
Good luck,
Eugen

While I've dropped footage (720/30p) into the time line directly and it worked, performance was somewhat slow and hard to use.

By using Toast 10 and converting (transcoding) to AIC (Apple Intermediate CODEC) performance is improved and the potential image degradation due to transcoding can't be seen.
