Can anyone tell me how to do a vhs to digital conversion? I ended up recording to tape and then capturing to Vegas. The av/dv out was set to ON. When I attempted to do a direct pass through Vegas complained that it can't do it.It says insert tape.

Can we actually do a pass through without using tape in the camera? I could not figure this out...

In the capture program, turn OFF device control. Then it won't expect a tape and pass-thru will work fine.
