I have an old set of 16mm arri zeiss mark ones that I want to use with the Letus adapter attached to the EX1.

I only want to use the 25mm and 16mm lenses which are longer and less likely to cause problems. And Possibly the 12mm

The problem. I will have to use the EX1 zoomed out to the end of its focal length and worried about colour fringing. I was thinking if the problem is slight I could reallign small damage in after effects.

Just wondered if anyone has had experience with this or knows more.

Presuming that I'm reading correctly, you would like to use 16mm format primes? I'm a bit puzzled why you wish to do this. The main purpose of the Letus adapter is to achieve a shallow DoF and the EX1 sensor is not much smaller than 16mm format and, as you say, you will have trouble shooting the small image on the Letus screen. I think you will suffer severe loss of quality, realising none of the benefits of the Zeiss lenses. But maybe I've misunderstood your proposal?

Having recently made a film on 16mm I do know that the bokeh is a lot better than the EX1. With the Mark one primes being so sharp and all f1.3 as standard This could be a way to improve the look at minimal cost. However since writing this post I've decided to give up on this idea and stick with 35mm lenses for my next production due to be shot in October.

Good decision. Without question 16mm is superior, but it isn't just the lenses; the film is a very important part of the equation. However, you could use 35mm format primes on your Letus. Although I'm rather of a view that you would be better using them on a Canon 7D.

I'm going to be using the EX1's HD out to a Ki Pro so I have 10 bits for colour correction.
