I just threw a new 64GB Delkin CF card in the nano and it's throwing this error. Bad card? Won't let me format it either.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Really? No one's ever seen this error code? Dan, any of you guys at CD no what it is?

Off to AK tomorrow and would love to use this Card if possible.

Eric,

I've seen this (and several similar) error codes with my previous cards (PhotoFast). They became less frequent after one of the previous firmware upgrades, but I never could trust those cards ever since.

Unfortunately, not all firmware / CF card model combinations are 100% bullet-proof; this is true not only with nanoFlash (just consider the ever-lasting saga of making the ExpressCard adapter/SDHC combos work reliably with the EX cameras)...

Sad, but true.

Thanks Piotr. This is my second Delkin 64GB. The first one works flawlessly.

In your experience is this something that the card manufacturer will replace, or was 270 just flushed down the toilet?

Sorry, but I really cannot advise you on this, Eric. Try to contact CD - perhaps they have heard about some bad batch from Delkin?

As to myself, I sold my cards to somebody with less stringent requirements...Of course losing some $$$.

Really sorry again I cannot help further.

We also had a problem with a Delkin card. They replaced it.

Dan or Mike,

Just FYI, the Delkin 64GB card (new) doesn't work with 1.02.06 but is working on our other nano running 1.5.126. I was hoping that if I formatted it with the older firmware it would work with my nano running 2.06, but no such luck. Anyhow, strikes me as a firmware and card compatibility issue. Let me know if you've got any suggestions.

Best,
Eric

Check that...I'm running 1.6.18...the 1.02.06 is obviously the codec ID. Going to update to 1.6.29 now and see if that helps.

Cheers,

OK. updated to 1.6.29 and still not compatible. Looks like this card (a 450x, not a 420x) is going back.

Eric - try 1.5.126; this is the firmware that ended my own nightmare with Photofast cards...

Dear Eric,

I am sorry, but I have been traveling and have not been able to respond immediately.

The Delkin 450x card is not on our list of qualified cards at this moment.

This is a complicated subject.

Delkin had a 420x 64 GB card (with a gray label). This is a fully qualified card.

Delkin came out with a new 450x 64 GB card, with a blue and red label.

Initially these cards worked.

Then, there was a change in the card.

Then, we made a change to our firmware to accomodate the changes in the card.

Our next release will fully support the Delkin 64 GB card.

In the meantime, I can assist you.

I will send you a private email.

Hi Dan,

Yes, I checked online and saw that the 450x was not qualified. I actually ordered this card from B&H assuming it was the 420x, but was sent the 450x. Not thinking anything of it, I waited until yesterday to throw it my nano flash and format it...the rest is history. If you think that this is something that will be resolved in the short term (via firmware), then we'll keep the card. Otherwise, we'll try and convince B&H to take it back. The 420x, after all, is the one that's pictured on their website.

Thanks.

Eric
