I used this wireless lav setup and the receiver was hooked up to the Zoom H4N. When the subject had the wireless lav attached to them there is constant static every couple of seconds. As a result this completely messed up the audio we captured. Does anyone knows why its doing this ?

Could be a couple of things. First make sure transmitter and receiver are on the same freq, 2nd, there might have been some other wireless system on the same freq, might have ben a whole lot of blackeberry's hunting for their network at the same time (unlikely) but you never know. I'm not 100% familiar with the Senn units but something sounds fishy here s I do know a whole lot of people that use that unit and haven't had any problems that I know of.

Can you upload a clip of the issue? It might be a range issue as well. How far away was the transmitter and was it line-of-sight?

If it's a kind of rattling "deedle deet deedle deet" pulsing periodically, my first thought is a cell phone locating itself on the network,
