As discussed on another thread, this will be the last UWOL Challenge that I will be running. My swan song. Time for a new leaf. Cue The Byrds!

YouTube - The Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg73MRomwSA&feature=related)

But don't worry, I'll be putting you all (UWOL) in good hands. And I will be making an announcement about the plan this week, in a separate thread, so that we can keep this thread limited to sign-ups only.

So sign up everyone, for old time's sake! Let's see some new names and old playing together. Heck, maybe I'll finally have a chance to get out there and shoot something.

Sign up closes: August 31

Theme announcement will be September 1. Deadline is Monday, September 20, midnight anywhere in the world.

This gives you three fat weekends to make something beautiful.

A few notes:

If this is your first time playing, you must:
1) sign up on this thread, stating your commitment to finish!
2) send me an e-mail with a current e-mail address to uwol@comcast.net - if you have played before and changed your e-mail address, please send one as well. I need your current e-mail in order to send you uploading instructions...

Read the rules at the sticky at the top of the sub-forum or at The UWOL Challenge - Wildlife & Outdoor based film competition

Also remember that your designated sign-up number on this thread converts to your unique number that you use when you name your film file - see rule #7 on the UWOL website for details...

Good luck everybody!

I'm in for sure for Meryem's swan song!
One of my favorite songs BTW.

Yup, another "oldtimer" signing in! Lets make this a big round for all of us!

Meryem, you could announce this round in a special email, to all those who have been participating during the start some years ago? Some may not checking this site on a regular basis!

Wow! Thanks for that one, Meryem. I vividly remember listening to that on my brand new three transistor radio. The times, they are a-changin’

I’m in. I’ve got some new hardware that I hope will be ready in time to use. I just love using UWOL as a test bed for new kit. Good-luck, all.

Count me in for Meryem's last one. I was in on the first, but it has been awhile since I've done one.

I had something in mind, before I read this, but the weather washed that one down the drain.
More areas to cover that might work, so, I'm in, and hopefully can stay away from the shark tank.

O.K.

What the HECK is going on????? I take off from UWOL for just over 6 months only to find out that the place has gone to.... the guys! O.K., great guys at that, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT! Where have all the girls gone?

Count me in on this one. I have time for this like I need a hole in my head, but somebody has to be the token girl on board. Come on ladies out there, don't be shy and join me. These guys are all bark and no bite and will give you some great film feedback along the way.

Let's make this the biggest turnout yet for the creative genius and inspiration behind UWOL, Go Meryem!

Cat, I'm glad you said that, I look terrible in a dress :-)

I'm onboard for this challenge!

Rob and Dale:

Ha! Quick wit I'd say... how quickly we settle into old times... you guys never fail to bring a smile to my face!

Rob, I'd love to hear how the toddler is doing and Dale, any new falcons on board? Shoot me an e-mail for an update, for this is a sign up thread, not a chat thread.

I had a sudden panic as I realised I haven't had time to check in anywhere on the forum for while. So count me in, and I'll do my best to come up with something.

Besides someone has to make sure Cat isn't too lonely!!

Hey people. I'm going to throw my hat in once more as I have something I'm planning to shoot next week and I hopefully I'll have the chance to make a film out of it....topic dependant of course :-/ !

I'll take a shot at this round.

PS- After reading Cats first post ("These guys are all bark and no bite") , I was going to try and stir things up and joke around that the women folk were best suited bare footed in the kitchen, and not behind the camera lens...
Dang it's a good thing I didn't post that !

Hmm, seeing that you are logging in from Hawaii it seems to me that women folk are best suited bare footed in the kitchen and just about everywhere else over there! Sandy beaches, balmy 87 degrees, tropical flowers... who wants to wear shoes? ;-)

Ah, so far women 3, men 25 .... the odds are looking better!

25 to 3. May be the guys have a chance after all.

Catherine seems to come up with uniqe ideas. Must be that Mars Venus thing, or is it just those strange Colorado ladies? :-)

How are the goats doing?

What may be an interesting factor is the percentage of those signing up and actually completing by gender. For any guy who doesn't produce a film, instead of jumping in a tank you should wear a big shiny dog tag for a week that reads: ' Bark is worse than Bite! '

I haven't been doing much video the past year due to injury, moving, etc. But this is the end of an era, and UWOL has really inspired me on many levels. So I will try to finish one for this, and keep Cat company. And good luck with your new ventures, Meryem.

Well i too can't let this pass without at least trying to put something together. Meryem, you have been brilliant the way you have run these challenges & i hope i can put something special together for your last round at the helm. Thank you so much for the last couple of years.
Only thing left to do is send an email with my updated address.
