This is probably only relevant to UK shooters, but I have come across a rental company
called:Video Camera Hire, Camcorder Hire, Video Camera Rental : Camerent (http://www.camerent.co.uk/)

Their pricing seems almost too good to be true and a little fishy. I was wondering if anyone in the UK had ever used this company and if they are for real. For example they offer a HPX 500 on a 3 day rental for £85? Most rentals in the UK charge around £180 a day just for the camera. They also offer the SRW 9000 at £300 for a 3 day rental yet most other companies rate it at around £500-600 pounds per day! In their description of the package they say it comes with a firewire cable (!) and 2 SxS cards, though what you would need them for with a HDCAM SR tape camera I don't know.

I'd check if that rate is the daily rate if booked for 3 days, otherwise the rate card doesn't make much sense. As a daily rate it's good.

The do appear to be genuine, I've been on their mailing list for some time and they do have some good offers, especially during quiet times, but I've not yet used their service. They are based in London but you can arrange for fairly local pick-up/drop-off points. My nearest point is about 12 miles away, I'll check it out sometime and report back.
