I'm in the market for a camera to do forwards- and sideways-looking POV shots from a moving vehicle in urban and desert settings (daylight only). On paper, the HXR-MC1 seems like a decent solution if I can afford it (which is not a given). The results don't have to be fanatically-detailed (I have a JVC HM700 which can do the main setups and other detailed work), but I'm worried about rolling shutter effects from the HXR-MC1 -- effects that plagued me when I tried using an old Vixia earlier this year for the same stuff. I have a GoPro which is a lot of fun but the fixed focal length is irritating, and the PQ isn't as good as I'd like.
Any comments or clues from real-world users out there? Thanks!
