My FS4HD is really very slow at transferring.

I think there may be a problem with the disk or something. The reason I say this is two things:

1) When I first turn it on, it will tell me different recording times on the display. Sometimes shorter than I've actually got left.

2) During transfer the speed will drop so badly. Its currently transferring at 2.04mb/second. Surely not right.

Any ideas guys? Shall I whip a new HD in her?

Sounds like the hard drive is dying although it shouldn't be recording properly if this was the case. Have you re-formatted the drive recently? Directory problems can cause these issues.
