I know a lot of folks here have benefited from the great work that Jay Rose has done as an educator and author about audio for many years.
Jay has been suffering from back issues for many years. I hadn't seen him around the boards in a while so I dropped him a note and am delighted to report that he's recovering from successful back surgery that sounds like it was pretty serious - but appears to have gone very well. At about 3 weeks post surgery he reports he's walking up to 1/2 mile a day and is pain free for the first time in a long while.
I any one wants to drop him a get well note, his website email is reaching him just fine.
