I went to meet a gentleman today who was selling what was thought to be his Canon XH-A1s,
I get there and its looks just like it but the side of the camera just says Canon XH-A1 a.

He is asking $2,500 for that and a $500 Manfrotto tripod & head, Plus a beginner 3 pc lighting kit total.

It seems like a good deal but the past few days I have been look at Canon XH-A1s, What would be a good bargain for the resale of the camera (best deal for my sake) and will I be loosing out if its just Canon XH-A1 and not a Canon XH-A1s??

Jay, I have both and they're great. But there's enough updates to make it worthwhile to get the A1s and it'll have a better resale value when you eventually sell it.

If you are considering the A1, check whether it has the free replacement handle support which Canon offers after so many broke. That might be one indication how the owner looked after it.

What Manfrotto rig is it? it might not suit the A1.
Cheers.
