I've got a serious problem with Compressor (current version 3.5.2). I've made a teaser spot for a website in After Effects CS4, rendered as the standard setting "Lossless Quicktime" with the Animation codec. That gives me a perfect looking video but of course a huge filesize (around 300mb for approx 10 sec). So I went to Compressor and tried to compress it with the H.264 codec, but the image looks very washed out so I did some research and bing! Found out about the infamous H.264/Apple issue with gamma shift (which I think there is still no solution for?).
But I'm not sure that's my issue this time, because I've tried different codecs such as MPEG2 and it's the exact same problem there. I've also tried Sorenson Squueze and Adobe Media Encoder with no luck (not just H.264 but MPEG2/MPEG4 etc..). My AE project is 16bpc / REC 709.
Anyone got any ideas? Help needed!
