I should have checked my transcodes before I assembled them and rendered. I left out a step in the transcode so there is a lot of very visible pixelation. Otherwise, the render was good. While it is not all that critical that I fix this, is there a way for me substitute the in-place clips with re-transcoded ones without a lot of hassle?

Go to the project media tab, right-click any media, choose "Replace", and then pick the proper media file.

That did the trick and was easy. I re-rendered the file. Came out great. But the time stamp didn't change. I did the clip swaps and rendered. Since a new file was made I'm curious why the timestamp didn't register.

Did you add a timecode effect? Or are you talking about something else? If you added the effect, WHERE did you add it?

What I meant was the Windows file date timestamp. After rendering, on a subsequent day, the date did not change. I thought that as odd.

If you rendered to the same file name, the "created" date would not change. However, the "modified" date would be updated to "now" - whenever the render occurred. If you right-click the clip in Windows Explorer and choose Properties, you'll see three dates: created, modified, and last accessed.
