I would always do voice over in Final cut using the mic on my PD150 and a firewire cable.
I tried to do this via ilink on the EX1 , but it didn't work out at all...????

What capture preset should I use in FCP for capture via Firewire?

iLink is live video/audio only when camera is set to SP (HDV compatible) mode I believe.
