I'm looking into options for recording audio separately from my Canon 7D. It seems like the H4N is the most common choice, but I the Alesis ProTrack is quite a bit less. I've already got an ipod with 35 gigs free.

Just wondering if anyone had used it and had any thoughts? I read some very good reviews, but they might have been considering it for just recording voice memos. I'm thinking of recording dialog for short films.
