I shot my first time lapse shots last night and the footage looks great but I notice what appear to be 4 dead pixels on the footage. 2 red and two white. I shot moving stars so these fixed dots stick out like a sore thumb.

I test shot some video and and shot a couple stills with the camera this morning and the dots/dead pixels are not there.

I shot 30 Second exposures last night...is that putting some sort of weird strain on the camera? Any ideas what is happening here? Is the camera defective? Got it at B&H on April 15.

Ideas? Fixes? Recommendations?

Thanks

I had a problem with a cluster of red pixels with my 7D. I sent the camera to Canon through my local dealer twice. The first time the camera came back with the same set of pixels.

The second time I sent the camera back I took several stills and blew them up in photoshop. I digitally circled the pixels and printed the original photos as well as the blown up sections. I explained in detail the problem, that any video shot in low light made this area stand out.

After another 3 weeks with out the cam it came back with a new sensor and a clean bill of health.

Good luck
