I have a 170 I want to use for B roll tomorrow. I have a 16g E series that indicates I have 17 minutes to shoot. I'm in video cam mode.720p 60p.Anyway to extend the time?
Also, it won't record in Loop Mode. Is that just the nature?
Thanks

If shooting 720/60p, it's 1Gb per minute. If you shoot 720/24PN (Native) or 30PN, you will get up to 2.5Gb per minute of record time(24PN). That means 43 min. on one 16Gb P2 card.
I don't believe the 170 has Loop Record mode. I know the higher end cameras do.

Page 47 of the user manual describes how to put the camera into loop recording mode.

I set it to Native and extended it. For what ever reason, I didn't see it the first time I did it. The 170 has a loop record setting but I just learned I need two cards for that function. Works fine now.

Sorry for my error regarding 170 not having Loop Record. Loop record does not work in 720/24P or PN, nor 720/30PN, but it does work in 720/30P and 720/60P, ditto PreRecord. This is in Video Cam mode, in Film Cam mode, Loop and PreRecord don't seem to work at all.
So, if you're trying to get into a Native record mode, Loop and PreRecord modes don't seem to work, even if Video Cam mode.
