What would be an appropriate tripod for a t2i with an attached battery grip mounted on an indisliderMINI? My budget is $100, I'm a broke fella.

In your case, probably a used one. I'd check ebay or Craig's List for a deal, but try to get something with a fluid head on it if possible.

I was able to find this on craigs: Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod Legs (Black) with 190XPROB,804RC2 -
it's gotten pretty good reviews on bh, but does anyone know how it is with the indislider?

Eh, I don't know about that one. Even the IndieSLIDER mini is going to need a pretty substantial head to stay steady. I use mine all the time on an old Bogen 501 head, it's pretty solid, and I still get a bit of play particularly at the end of the slider.

The head on that one you linked to doesn't look like it would hold the slider steady at all.

What if I just attach the indislider to the legs, and the head onto the indislider?

Yeah, those sticks would probably be fine.

Alright, thank you for your reply. Oh, and I keep hearing about this rubber band trick to smoothen out indislider, but what exactly is the trick?

You put a rubber band around the main puck, and use that to pull the slider. It smooths it out so well.
