Of course loads of hard drives in Raid mode (1+0 or 5). Kiflom Bahta July 8th, 2010, 12:26 AM Thanks lukas, how about the new AMD phenom. they look more bang for the buck Chris Davis July 8th, 2010, 03:55 PM Guys in Adobe section are all saying that you'll need i7-930 with 9-12GB Ram and powerful 1GB video card. Well, "need" is a bit strong of a term. Perhaps "want". I have a laptop with 6GB and an i7-720QM and it handles HDV and AVCHD just fine in Adobe. Heck, my Q6600 quad-core desktop with 4GB is entirely usable with the same material. Kiflom, just set your budget and buy the fastest machine you can. No sense drooling over a $6,000 workstation when you only have $2,000. Oh yeah, and dollar-for-dollar, you'll get more value out of AMD. But I still gravitate toward Intel... Kiflom Bahta July 10th, 2010, 11:37 PM Thank you guys. i leaning towards intel i7 930 Lukas Siewior July 11th, 2010, 06:44 AM I'd like to ask a question related to this topic: is there any hardware (i.e. video card) that allows to speed up rendering process? Or also helps CPU with real time preview of timeline? Chip Thome July 11th, 2010, 07:41 AM Adobe has incorporated the CUDA technology that's available in most NVIDIA video cards into CS5. Not sure about anyone else. |
