Keith Loh July 22nd, 2005, 06:14 PM Do a search in the forum search field. This question comes up every couple months or so.
Look for "28 Days Later", "The Celebration", "Open Water".
That'll get you started.

Yi Fong Yu July 26th, 2005, 10:50 PM i know they used film too but what about blair witch project?
is this film still the most profitable film ever made?
Christopher C. Murphy July 26th, 2005, 11:11 PM I shot my niece's birthday on DV last week and made a nice DVD. Can I add that to the list?? lol
In the last few months I've come to realize it doesn't matter what camera or format you use. It really doesn't matter at all in 2005. If you have lots of cash you shoot film...if you don't use video. It's all about cash...unfortunately.
Matt Ockenfels July 27th, 2005, 12:07 AM Take a look here...

Its an independent production, quite inspiring. Go to the download page, download the DVD image, burn, and enjoy!

Philip Boyer July 27th, 2005, 05:49 AM Here's a list (copied from DVXUser.com) of 4 that were shot with a DVX100 that are in theaters now.
9 Songs
Mad Hot Ballroom
Murderball
November
Keith Loh July 27th, 2005, 11:16 AM I should check out "Murderball". Reviews have been really good.
Philip Boyer July 27th, 2005, 11:27 AM Here's an article on Mark Zupan, one of the athletes in Murderball.

Aaron Koolen July 27th, 2005, 01:58 PM Well it depends what you mean by good. Visually, or narratively? I mean you don't need DV movies to see if one's narratively good, and most DV (If you mean DV25, and not HD) look crappyish anyway. But one example that springs to mind as one absolutely awfully looking movie shot on DV, but one I really loved was Bamboozled by Spike Lee.
It took me about 10 minutes to get over the fact that it was shot on a handycam type camera (I think they used VX1000's) but once I settled in it was great.

Richard Alvarez July 27th, 2005, 02:15 PM They cut "November" on an AvidXpressPro laptop.
James Bridges November 2nd, 2005, 01:58 PM You can find so many movies shot using some form of DV these days. Are you talking low budget that has been distributed of big blockbusters that integrate DV? Once you get into the story it shouldn't matter what it is shot on. Unless you consider yourself a "filmsnob" or a "DV geek". Good Luck!

Mathieu Ghekiere November 2nd, 2005, 03:26 PM Isn't even the new movie from Steve Buscemi (Lonesome Jim) shot on a DVX100?
Keith Loh November 2nd, 2005, 03:46 PM Every year lots of Asian films are released that were filmed originally on MiniDV or other video format. So if any of you exhaust the trickle of western films that were made on DV you can walk over to your Chinatown and catch any number of Asian DV films.
Justin Morgan November 3rd, 2005, 07:29 AM To add to the list, I would recommend the excellent 'ivansxtc'.
