I've been considering tripod/head combo for a while. Yes I would like to go for a Vinten or Sachtler, but I can't afford $5K for it now. I temporarily need a descent tripod in the $2K range max, able to support 15 kilos. As I searched through B&H to size up my choices, I found only two that match these criteria. The Libec LS-70 and the Manfrotto 526. One of those two will have to do for the time being.
I've heard too many war stories about the 526. But I haven't heard anything extensive about the LS-70.
Any thoughts?
