Hi all,

have just imported a load of AVCHD .mts files from my canon HF-200 and two of the 75 files were "unsupported". When I look closely one doesnt show in the list of files and one shows as only video, no audio at all. All of the rest are fine and they were all recorded on the same settings at the same time.

I have noticed that both of the faulty files are by far the longest in length and largest in file size (130mb)

I can't believe there would be, especially not that low but is there any kind of file size or length restriction that might have caused this??

There is a clip size limit right around 2G, where the camera will "split" the clip into two parts, and typically the first part of the clip needs to be "stitched" back to the rest of the clip. Were any of your clips over around 15-17 minutes (shorter if you're shooting bitrates higher that 17Mbps)? Sounds like that might be the problem.

Search DVi and you'll find more info and probably a link to a small program to re-attach the parts of the clip.

thanks for your reply Dave. I think the bitrate was 20mbps however the videos were no longer than 4 or 5 minutes...

I have recently found out that I was not using one of the recommended brands of SD card for this camera. I know usually that doesnt matter at all but after researching it seems that its very common with the canon HF-200 so I have since bought a class 6 sandisk and I'm hoping I wont have this issue again.
