I have been thinking about a ladder dolly for while. Last week I was shooting in Barbados and brought down a skateboard dolly wheel kit and bought the pipe and the plywood and the bolts and spent an hour or so putting it together. Worked fine, but a ladder dolly just seems easier. I have been looking at the Hague one from England and there was one made in Canada on Ebay last year but there was come controversy surrounding the make on several groups. Now there is a new one also from Canada on Ebay and on its own site call the Merlin dolly with several attachments etc. There are no videos on the site so you can't really get an idea if this is for HV20 size cameras or if it will work for larger ones.
What I liked about the Hague was the riser accepted a 100mm bowl and you could use an adapter for a 75mm bowl. This makes it quick to move from sticks to dolly and still level the camera, The Merlin does not have this feature and the riser seems low.
Would like see a review of this unit and its various attachments.
