Adrian Svircic March 12th, 2012, 04:28 PM Hi, I am doing a 3 day shoot in/near the Srbsko Caves (Mid April 2012). I am in need of an FS100 (Sony), C300, or F3. I'd really like to shoot with the FS100 for budgetary reasons, and the only rental agency that has an FS100 is having it repaired. If I could just rent the body alone I would be grateful. I'm looking for very fast lenses however (2.8 and lower) and would rent that along with the camera if possible. Nikon or canon adapters for the FS100 would be great as well. If anyone has said camera or knows of a rental agency that has the FS100 or C300, please let me know. thanks Kevin Lewis March 14th, 2012, 01:50 PM Note to all: I recently hired Justin for both camera and post work. His work is outstanding and he is extremely professional. I would highly recommend using his services. Michael Marks March 15th, 2012, 04:08 PM Looking for an artist to Key out people shot without a chromakey, and a 3D Animator for a high end short production influenced by 300 and Blade Runner. Upon receiving your email you will be sent a link to a work in progress of the production and instructions on what we are looking for. Please send a link to your work to: imaginvisuals@gmail.com Ken Beals March 16th, 2012, 10:31 AM Will be in the West Palm Beach area Friday, March 30th and Sat. 31st. One of the projects will be interview style and could use a basic light kit (Softbox, Fill, Back) to rent / borrow. you can contact me @ : flowingcamera@gmail.com (480) 678.1175 thanks, KC Matt Gallagher March 17th, 2012, 03:24 PM Last minute request...I need to rent a camera for a one day function in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday March 18th. Anyone interested in renting? $150-200 depending on kit. Please email me directly. Thanks, Matt Gallagher gallagherprod at yahoo dot com Ken Beals March 18th, 2012, 03:55 AM Anyone in this DVinfo community possibly know someone in the West Palm Beach / Ft. Lauderdale area that might have a kit ? Have been doing this craft professionally nearly 20 years , have my own light kit it's just that I utterly do not trust the airline baggage handling. As relevant side note, my personal and professional philosophy on borrow / renting is that the equipment will be handled with care during production and returned in equal or better condition. Even if a bulb burns out I will make certain it gets replaced at my expense. If it's in my care I am 100% responsible for it. If I need to will have my own equipment sent to the shoot location via UPS yet my alternate reason to borrow/rent from someone locally is to also meet my peers and hopefully build professional relationship. thanks, KC Jim Stamos March 19th, 2012, 09:43 PM you still need a shooter? Robert Turchick March 20th, 2012, 09:20 AM job is happening as I type this, Thanks! Inna Lantsman March 20th, 2012, 02:26 PM I could have done it for you. Justin Molush March 28th, 2012, 06:10 PM I work for an aftermarket performance tuning company up here in Montreal and I am producing a series of DIY videos for the web among other things and we are looking for someone with VO experience (male or female, either one) to help out! The gig is paid, obviously. If you would like some details, feel free to email me or post here, I am on here daily. Let me know what kind of rates you are looking for... I have a Zoom H4n and an XLR mic ready to go so no need to provide your own equipment (unless you have a nice mic you like to use, this one is alright, but not the best). Videos are going to be in the range of 3-5 minutes each, and if your awesome at what you do, there will be plenty of opportunities to work on little projects here or there throughout the year! Let me know if you are interested... I have worked with people from DVinfo before, Ill gladly post their vouches for anyone that has not met me before. Mark Weisen March 29th, 2012, 10:22 PM I have a 2.5 hr DVCAM cassette I need to capture to firewire drive - Need this done somewhere near SF...Drop a line if you can help me out.... I can capture to .m2t or Canopus HQ. I'm in Emeryville right now. If you drop off a hard drive and your tape, I can do it overnight for you. Warren Dylan Couper April 7th, 2012, 01:02 PM Here's the deal... I need one shot of someone opening curtains and looking out into a street in a rural part of somewhere that isn't the USA or Europe, donkeys and chickens running around type of thing. Or maybe rickshaws and chickens. Mexico... Thailand... etc... it's all good. I need it filmed on a cheap still camera in video mode (720p is fine), and nothing about it should look professional, just hand held footage from someone on vacation opening their window and looking out on the street. If you live in a place like this, or have easy access to one, please shoot me an email for details! Would be a great help. Thanks! But I want to get some experience on set and will work for free as a gaffer. Juergen Hansen April 29th, 2012, 08:41 AM Hi Victor, I sent you an email. Best, Juergen Victor Nguyen April 29th, 2012, 09:39 AM Hi, my name is Victor Nguyen and I'm about to graduate high school in June. I'm looking for a place that I can intern under in the summer to get some job experience. Josh Bass April 29th, 2012, 03:44 PM Hi. In what area are you looking to intern? In news? Film production? Commercial/corporate? I would make a decision on that first, and then check out the Houston Production guide online: Houston Production Guide (http://www.houstonproductionguide.com/) It's a fairly comprehensive database of every production company, service and even individual crew members/employees in the video/film business in Houston. Try to find the companies your field of interest and just cold call (I'm sorry, I wouldn't know who to ask for) and see if they're looking to hire interns. I didn't catch if you were 18 yet or not, and I'm not sure if that matters (not too familiar with the labor laws), but there are generally movies and TV shows shooting all the time that are looking for intern positions. Many ads for those on the Houston Film Commission and Texas Film Commission websites: Houston Film Commission - Texas Filmmaker's Showcase - Visit Houston Texas (http://www.houstonfilmcommission.com/news-events/film-video-announcements/) Texas Film Commission, Office of the Governor Rick Perry - Job Hotline Crew Calls (http://governor.state.tx.us/film/hotline-crew) Hope that helps. Dave Dodds May 2nd, 2012, 07:52 PM I'm looking to hire a 2nd camera with a HDSLR cam for a shoot on Wednesday, May 9th in San Francisco. Fairly straightforward interviews to be shot, also an opportunity to rent the production some additional gear (lights, tripod) if you've got it. Email with link to your site/reel with rates for a 10 hr day. Dodds.Cam@gmail.com Thanks. ~~Dave Joshua Starnes May 12th, 2012, 10:46 AM We are a small production company in Houston working on the first three episodes of a comedic web-series as pilot project to develop enough interest to fund a larger order of episodes. Victor Nguyen May 23rd, 2012, 02:15 AM thanks a lot Bass, sorry for the late reply, I didn't know how to subscribe to threads back then. I would want to work for film production and corporates work. Not really interested in News. Do you now if there are any good film school in Houston? I heard from people that Houston Community College is good for film and Alvin ( which is close to me) have a really good broadcasting program. I might go into tv broadcasting if there is a higher chance of a stable job. And yes I am already 18, about to get out of high school in June 2nd and head off to college to follow my dream :) Josh Bass May 23rd, 2012, 03:07 AM No worries. There are not really any film schools in Houston. There are places with film/TV/etc. PROGRAMS, like, yes, HCC, UofH has something, Art Institute, etc. As I understand it these are by no means in the same league as attending a "real" film school. UT in Austin is pretty well known for their film program. Other than that, I don't even know what (if anything) is in Texas. Please know that film school is not required or even any kind of guarantee that you will make it in the industry. It's just one of several valid avenues to get you there. Victor Nguyen May 23rd, 2012, 06:21 AM yes I know, just hoping to make some contacts and the training might be useful. How about for television? is it the same as filmmaking where I really don't need a degree? Josh Bass May 23rd, 2012, 02:33 PM Depends what you mean by "television". I believe some positions as TV stations do actually require a degree, but that may more for working in news or operations (operations being basically helping run the station, in a technical sense -- master controller, stuff like that). There may be a few shows around town that need crew people (Hot on Homes, etc.), and I couldn't say as to whether those would require degrees or not. Google "tv jobs Houston" or similar and see what pops up. Also check each station's web site for job listings and see if they mention degrees. Richard Davidson May 24th, 2012, 09:29 AM Shot a local pageant with 3 cameras (Sony cx55x series) and have separate audio. Not up to putting it all together for a dvd. Looking for help putting the footage together with output being a dvd & bluray dvd. Not the best quality due to lack of lighting and such. Just need it all put together as best as possible and finished. Better half is on my butt. I would prefer Vegas so I can copy the job to my computer after it is finished. Email me with any questions. Thanks Garrett Low May 24th, 2012, 09:41 AM Hi Richard, I can't email you as it's not an option when I click on your name. I edit in Vegas Pro 9. What is the anticipated length of the finished video? What is your timeline for getting it done? And what is your budget for getting the edit done? Email me if you're still looking for someone to do it.
