I have a Canon HF10, which doesn't have a very wide lens. I'm wondering if a wide angle lens adapter would fix this, but I don't want the look of a fisheye, which I already have.
Any thoughts?

View Full Version : Wide Angle Adapter? Wendell Frink June 13th, 2010, 03:40 PM I have a Canon HF10, which doesn't have a very wide lens. Robin Davies-Rollinson June 14th, 2010, 05:26 AM Canon supply a wide-angle adapter which is very good (I used to use it before I changed the camera ) and certainly doesn't give the fish-eye look to shots. I believe it is the Canon WD-37. Wendell Frink June 14th, 2010, 02:45 PM Oh thanks! Its expensive though. I'll have to wait on that purchase. Ron Cooper June 19th, 2010, 11:30 PM Wendell, I have a Canon HF-S10 and I bought the Canon wide-angle lens for it when I bought the camera, - yes, it is expensive, but well worth it. I hardly ever take it off the camera. No obvious distortion and it improves your SOUND ! Of course, because you can get closer to your subjects ! RonC. Robin Davies-Rollinson June 20th, 2010, 06:53 AM The HFS10 has a 58mm lens fitting, so the wide angle lens would be the WD58. I use this om my HFS100 and it is indeed a good bit of glass. I bought it some years back for the Canon XM2. Wendell Frink June 28th, 2010, 09:26 AM Thanks all! I'll be sure to purchase one of these in the future. Kin Lau June 30th, 2010, 02:50 PM Make sure you have to correct model, the HF10 and HFS10 are very different cameras. I use a Raynox 0.5x wide angle attachment. Gary Braybrook July 3rd, 2010, 03:28 PM Kenko 0.5X Wide Angle Lens for 37mm Camcorders I have one of these for my HF200 There is some vignetting at full wide angle so it takes a bit of practice but the results are reasonable for the price, but shop around because the prices seem to vary, I think I only paid about £28 six months ago. Hope this helps. Craig Hollenback August 15th, 2010, 04:20 PM It's half the price of the Vixia verson and works great. Florida Keys Key West Time (http://www.conchtv.com/author/kwtime?postname=key-west-time-the-premiere-show) it's used here. Best, Craig |
